How to Manage Fevers Naturally

January 29, 2016

Is your temperature higher than normal? Do you feel cold yet you’re sweating profusely? Are you having headaches? If you answer “yes” to these question, chances are, you have a fever. Fever is the body’s natural response to infection or illness. Many diseases thrive at normal body temperatures and a fever is a good indication that your body is doing its best to fight them.

Most people rely on artificial medicine to treat their fever and get well. However, over the counter medicine usually have side-effects that may be bad for your body. Good thing there are homeopathic remedies that you can use to treat your fever naturally. Here are some of them.

Take a lukewarm bath

Taking a bath in lukewarm water provide great relief for people with fever. The water’s lukewarm temperature will make you feel refreshed and at the same time, help bring down your body temperature. A word of caution, though. You should never try to rapidly bring a fever down by bathing in cold water as this causes blood to rush to your internal organs. Instead of cooling you down, it actually warms your internal parts up.

Drink herbal tea

Drinking tea is said to be one of the best natural remedies for fever. For instance, yarrow tea and hot ginger tea can help you sweat, which in turn helps eliminate your fever. Elderflower, which is another herb, also makes you sweat. It can also provide relief from symptoms of flu and colds.

Add a bit of spice to your food

Eating something spicy can also help treat your fever. Cayenne pepper, in particular, has capsaicin. It makes you sweat and promotes rapid blood circulation that helps eliminate your fever.

Drink plenty of liquids

When you have a fever, it’s easy to become dehydrated. To recover quickly from your condition, makes sure to drink 8 to 12 glasses of water every day. Drinking sports drinks can help, as well. Aside from helping you stay hydrated, sports drinks like Gatorade can also help replenish the minerals you lost when you sweat.

Make sure to drink freshly squeezed fruit juices that are rich in Vitamin C, too. Vitamin C boosts your immune system and helps your body fight off infection.

Try safe remedies

You can also take natural remedies like Fever Drops and Baby Fever Drops made by PuraForce Remedies. They contain natural ingredients typically used in the relief of fever and for treating fevers associated with colds and flu, teething, and viruses. They can also be used as a natural alternative to conventional pain relief solutions. Be sure to give them a try.
