Every week I hear everyone verbalising these words: “I NEED a holiday” and when we get chatting it becomes apparent that the number 1 reason for needing a holiday is not to explore another country, or have fun, no…their primary reason is because they are stressed and desperately need to switch off.
But why wait for that holiday? Why not destress and enjoy everyday life now? My daily bathing ritual plus my Stress Drops are making a huge difference to my patients lives and so today I wanted to share all the details with you.
Daily bathing is an important part of self care, and self love. More importantly, bathing can relieve muscle tension, it removes toxins, it treats depression, and can alleviate stress by reducing your cortisol levels.
But don’t add just anything in your bath
Bubbles and champagne don’t quite cut it I’m afraid. If you want to have maximum healing benefits from your bathing ritual, you need to stay clear of artificial cleansers, toxic ingredients commonly found in bathing products (such as parabens, petrochemicals and preservatives) and instead opt for nature’s simple but very powerful ingredients.
Here are my top bathing solutions
1. Sea Salt Detoxifying Bath
Increase your energy by adding 5 tablespoons of natural sea salt in your bath tub. The sea salt will draw out toxins and other accumulated impurities and give you that extra energy buzz.
2. Epsom Salt Bath
Epsom salts are so cost effective and can aid your circulatory system whilst improving your nerve functions. Sprinkle a few table spoons and add 4-5 drops of peppermint or lavender essential oil for the ultimate destress experience.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar Bath
Another extremely cost effective option that may assist with reducing inflammation, arthritic pain and gout. Just add 1 cup to your hot bath and soak in it for at least 20 minutes.
4. Ginger Detox Bath
Add about 5 slices of thick cut fresh ginger to your hot bath and you’re guaranteed to get a good sweat going. You will feel energised and lighter afterwards which will also assist with falling asleep faster.
